Did T.S. Eliot base some of his poems off the 20th century? Or was he just influenced by the 20th century?

Hi, I'm presenting TS Eliot at school and have to give a short biography. I read somewhere that he was influenced by 20th century but im not sure if that info is accurate or not. So im asking for help to confirm this and get more detail into how he was influenced by the 20th century if he was. I can't find info anywhere. Please help im nearing a C in this class and need to do good on this project.
