What does the doctor mean by this? Is this a good thing? Please help!?

Pain is actually a very good sign, so is the lymph node being movable. This is likely why the doctor did not mention lymphoma. Fixed, hard, and no pain are the typical signs of cancer. However, your symptoms can be a sign of early stage cancer (but that would be really rare) Most likely it was chronically inflamed or a cyst like you mentioned. I would wait to see what the pathologist says. Hope it all goes well for you.
